Job Description
The C++ Engineer II is responsible for independently completing projects and assignments as it relates to the design and development of embedded software and tools as part of the Embedded Software Development Team. This includes maintenance of the existing embedded software and development of new features and services within the embedded software. It also includes the development and maintenance of the embedded software development environment such as testing and build tools. This role is responsible for assisting in the architecture, design, coding, testing, and documenting of software within an agile scrum team using Atlassian tools.

The C++ Engineer II is expected to apply intermediate functional knowledge to come up to speed quickly on new products and services; perform software development, testing, and analysis; and support a diverse set of customers and team members. They are able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, participate in broader team activities, document and present designs, troubleshoot issues, and complete data analysis using a variety of tools and methods.


Responsibilities
Performing software development using Atlassian Tools: Jira for task management, Bitbucket for code repository, Fisheye/Crucible for code inspection, Bamboo for building and automated testing and Confluence for documentation.
Developing software following the teams ‘Definition of Done’ to ensure that each task is completed to the teams approved standards.
Working as member of an agile scrum team and support daily standup meetings, sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews/demonstrations, and retrospectives.
Supporting backlog grooming meetings to assist the team with gaining understanding of backlog tasks and turning them into single or multiple user stories and estimating the tasks using a story point gauge

Willingness and ability to travel up to 15 days annually
Willingness and ability to be on-call to support operational issues
US Citizenship is required

Education and Experience
BS degree in computer science, computer engineering or computer system engineering, or related engineering degree
2+ years of related experience in development of embedded software using C++
Proficiency in C++ with 2+ years of experience developing software tools and applications
Previous experience working with the Linux or Unix operating system
Previous experience working with or has used the Atlassian Tools: Jira for task management, Bitbucket for code repository, Fisheye/Crucible for code inspection, Bamboo for building and automated testing, and Confluence for documentation.
Strong background in troubleshooting, problem solving, and working under tight time constraints.
Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle process.
Expertise with the Microsoft Windows and Office product suite
