Job Description
The Associate Director of IT Operations serves the company’s IT needs and has overall responsibility for ensuring that the Company is getting maximum value from existing software tools and partnerships. Additionally, the Associate Director will ensure that all technology-related business processes are working efficiently and effectively. The Associate Director will develop and take accountability for a collaborative, cross-functional, and internally focused IT strategy and road map. The Associate Director of IT Operations will have direct experience enabling business performance through their knowledge of application software and business processes; will be well organized, able to easily manage and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment; can work collaboratively and effectively with the leaders of Product & Systems Integration, Enterprise Network, and B/OSS Development teams; and can clearly explain technical issues in a way that everyone can understand. The Associate Director oversees a department with responsibilities for managing operating systems, databases, and service desk operations.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the company’s IT systems and applications, ensuring smooth delivery and operation of all IT services
• Oversees the administration of and provides technical leadership and management direction to IT Enterprise Operations team in areas of UNIX, Linux, Windows, database, and service desk
• Manages all IT activities, resources and assets for the Company and serves as the primary contact for areas of responsibility
• Establishes, monitors, and ensures compliance of standard company IT policies and procedures
• Develops and manages operational plans covering weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational activities
• Maintains overall company computing environment, ensuring standard applications and equipment are deployed through the company
• Communicates effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies
• Sustains information systems results by defining, delivering, and supporting information systems; auditing application of systems.
• Assesses and enhances information systems results by auditing systems applications, identifying new/improved technology opportunities and developing application strategies
• Accomplishes annual financial objectives by determining annual service level required, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions, as needed
• Manages vendor relationships and negotiates contracts to support enterprise IT applications and operations
• Manages the portfolio of company business application licensing, ensuring proper maintenance via vendor support agreements.
• Participates in the overall Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning for the company and takes action to implement and test approved plans
• Maintains a high-performing and customer-oriented staff by recruiting, selecting, training, and developing employees; driving their personal growth opportunities
• Successfully drives results from staff by clearly and effectively communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and mentoring employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
• Reviews service deliverables with staff to ensure quality and adherence to processes, standards, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements to internal customers
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal/professional networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies

• 12+ years’ experience in Information Technology with progressive responsibility required
• 7+ years’ experience as an effective team leader, including experience managing, mentoring, and coaching employees, is required
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including tools for sharing, collaboration, and workflows
• Extensive knowledge of IT policies, standards, procedures and best practices
• Experience with industry standards such as ITIL, COBIT, ISO
